LocalePilot 1.0.0

Planned release · date announced at launch

First public release of LocalePilot for macOS. It takes you from new strings to translate to files ready to review in Git, with the AI model you choose. Your files stay on your Mac.

Formats

  • Flutter ARB, flat and nested JSON, multi-language JSON, Apple .strings and Xcode String Catalogs (.xcstrings), opened as they are.
  • The App Store listing in your fastlane/metadata folder: name, subtitle, keywords and descriptions, with character and byte counters.

Checks before you translate

  • Missing and extra keys, empty values and source text copied into a target language.
  • Placeholders in ICU, {name} and printf or Apple style (%@, %1$@, %d).
  • Plural categories checked against the CLDR rules of each language.

Review and AI translation

  • A table where you edit cells by hand and mark each translation as draft, reviewed or approved. The inspector shows whether a value comes from a file, from AI or from you.
  • AI translation of a selection or a filtered batch, with a local model (Ollama, LM Studio) or a cloud provider with your own API key. Each action lists the cells and languages it will change before it runs.

Export

  • The original structure of each file is kept. A backup is made before anything is overwritten, and a summary lists what was written.

Also in this version

  • A command palette (⌘K) and a review flow that keeps your focus, scroll position and filter.
  • Light and dark themes.
  • Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox and only reads and writes the folders you open.
  • Updates through Sparkle: the app tells you when a version is available and installs it only after you click.
